Vinyl Siding Replacement Project – Scituate, MA

Residential Viny Siding Project in the Coastal Town of Scituate, MA

On April 30, 2025, the team at FC Home Improvement completed a full vinyl siding transformation in the coastal town of Scituate, Massachusetts. The property had been abandoned for years, and the original wooden siding, more than 25 years old, was badly deteriorated.
The new homeowner’s top priority was to make the house move-in ready, with proper insulation and long-lasting, low-maintenance siding.

We were brought in to remove the damaged materials and give the home a fresh, protective exterior using Monogram vinyl siding and vinyl cedar impressions.

Scope of Work

This was not a surface-level refresh — it was a complete siding overhaul, including:

Full removal of the aged wooden siding
High-performance Blue Skin underlayment applied to all exterior walls
Installation of premium Monogram vinyl siding and vinyl cedar impression panels
Custom carpentry with Azek trim on roof gables, fascia boards, window and door frames
Use of starter strips, under sill trim, J-channels, and hand-nailed fastening for durability

Unexpected Challenge

Below one of the gables, we encountered a failing railing system that had to be completely rebuilt to ensure structural safety before siding could be installed.

• A safe, move-in ready home for the new owners

Why Vinyl Siding Was the Right Choice

Scituate homes are exposed to harsh coastal elements — wind, rain, humidity, and salt air. The client chose vinyl siding for its weather resistance, energy efficiency, and New England-style aesthetic.

Monogram siding offers a classic look with deep shadow lines and woodgrain texture, while the vinyl cedar impressions added an authentic touch of architectural detail — all without the constant upkeep of real wood.
