- Straight talk on repair vs replacement – If a repair will hold, we tell you. If the system is done, we show you why.
Signs Your Gutters Need Repair
Common gutter problems we see:
- Drips or waterfalls from seams, corners, or mid-runs
- Overflowing gutters during normal rain (not just extreme storms)
- Sagging or pulling-away sections that don’t sit level
- Standing water in sections of the gutter after the rain stops
- Water pooling around the foundation or in flower beds
- Soil erosion, washed-out mulch, or splash marks on siding below gutters
If you ignore these, water starts attacking the most expensive parts of your home—foundation, basement, siding, and landscaping.

What Our Gutter Repair Service Covers
Leak & Seam Repairs
We locate leaks at seams, corners, end caps, and penetrations, then:
- Re-seal joints with appropriate sealants
- Rebuild failed connections where necessary
- Replace badly damaged short sections when that’s the better move
Sagging & Pulling-Away Gutters
Gutters that sag or pull away from the fascia can’t drain properly.
- Re-secure gutters with proper hangers and fasteners
- Correct the pitch so water flows toward downspouts
- Replace failed hangers and reinforce weak areas
Standing Water / Pitch Problems
If water sits in the gutters, something is wrong with the slope.
- Adjust hangers to re-establish proper slope
- Add or relocate downspouts when one area is overloaded
- Remove small obstructions and fix misaligned sections
Downspout & Drainage Issues
It’s not enough for water to reach the downspout—it has to get away from the house.
- Repair or replace damaged downspouts
- Add or adjust extensions so water discharges away from the foundation
- Address obvious clogs at elbows and connections
Gutter Repair vs. Gutter Replacement
We’re not going to sell you a whole new gutter system just because of one bad elbow. But we’ll also tell you when repairs are wasting your money.
Repair is usually enough when:
- Most gutters are structurally sound
- Issues are limited to a few leaks, a sagging run, or minor pitch problems
- Metal isn’t heavily rusted or thinning
- You’re not planning a major exterior makeover right now
Replacement is worth a serious look when:
- Gutters are old, thin, and rusted or dented all over
- Multiple sections are sagging, patched, or out of pitch
- You’ve had repeated repairs in different areas
- You’re upgrading roof or siding and want the whole exterior system right
If, during a repair visit, we see that the system is at the end of its life, we’ll explain it and talk about full gutter replacement instead of just throwing more labor at failing materials.
Our Gutter Repair Process
Step 1 – Inspection & Testing
We:
- Inspect existing gutters, hangers, and downspouts
- Look for obvious leaks, rust, and misaligned sections
- Check where water is going on the ground after it leaves the downspouts
When possible, we’ll test water flow to see how the system behaves during rain.
Step 3 – Repairs & Adjustments
We:
- Fix leaks
- Re-hang or re-slope problem runs
- Replace failing hangers
- Address obvious drainage issues at the bottom of downspouts
Step 2 – Repair Plan
We outline:
- What needs to be re-secured or re-sloped
- Where seams and joints need to be rebuilt or sealed
- Whether downspouts or extensions need to be adjusted or added
- Whether the system is still a good candidate for repair
Step 4 – Final Check & Cleanup
We do a final visual check for flow and leaks (where possible), clean up debris, and leave the area without piles of screws, sealant tubes, or metal scraps.

Gutter Repair FAQs
Can you repair just one section of gutter, or do I need a whole new system?
We can often repair just the problem sections when the overall system is still in good shape. If we see widespread failures or heavy rust, we’ll tell you honestly that it’s time to consider full replacement.
Why do my gutters overflow even when they’re clean?
Overflow with clean gutters usually means a pitch problem, undersized system, or not enough downspouts in the right places. We look at how the whole run is sloped and where the water is trying to go.
Can sagging gutters be fixed, or do they need to be replaced?
Light to moderate sagging can often be fixed by re-hanging and re-sloping the gutters with proper hangers. If the metal is badly bent or pulled out of shape, replacement of that section may be better.
Will gutter repairs help with basement or foundation moisture?
They can. Properly functioning gutters and downspouts are a key part of keeping water away from the foundation. If water is currently dumping right next to the house, repairs and better drainage can make a real difference.
Do you also install new gutters if mine are too far gone?
Yes. If we find that repairs aren’t a good investment, we can quote new gutter installation and replacement so you can decide what makes the most sense long term.
Request a gutter inspection today. We’ll check your system, show you what’s going on, and recommend the right level of repair—or tell you if it’s time to replace the gutters altogether.
